funny you should ask. I had Mirena for about a year and I gained weight while on it. ( Not saying it was the IUD cause I got it right before the holidays) I had mine changed to the paraguard cause i was having other problems with the Mirena. Having break through bleeding after a 14 day peroid. Lets hope this one works better than the last one. I will have to say that I really only spotted durning peroid and I loved that
