I agree with the above posters. I'm diabetic and see both a nutritionist and my doctor who prescribes phen. They are totally independent of each other and both mentioned 1200 calories as the absolute minimum you should take in or your body goes into "starvation mode" and burns calories much slower. I usually have 1200-1400 calories. I'm supposed to be exercising 30 minutes 7 days a week, but I try to get in at least 5 days.
