Yes, quitting is very difficult, but once you get over that hurdle, you will realize it is sooo worth it. I smoked for nine years (started at 14.. shame on me!) and was just getting fed up with it. I didn't really enjoy it, I was sick of spending the money and being one of the few smokers in our social circle. My hubby and I were kind of "half quitting." We decided we'd only smoke when we drank (hah... doesn't work, don't bother!!

)... I blew my lid around Thanksgiving when I saw him going out to smoke every chance he got with family members. We got into an argument about it -- I didn't feel he was putting any effort into quitting even though he told me he did want to. Finally I asked if he really wanted to... he said yes and I said "Then we are done for good. No more." We've been smoke free for a year and a half. It gets soooo much easier as time goes on. Just take it one day at a time. Celebrate your accomplishments -- your first week without, your first month, your first dinner, your first shopping trip. The first is always the hardest. You have a great son who loves his mom a lot and wants her to be around for him!
