Well, when our cats have climbed the trees they usually figure out a way down after a while. I was leaving for work one morning and saw Samson on top of the house as I was driving away (he was still a teenager then). I didn't have time to get him down, nor was I planning on climbing on top of our house. When I came home from work, he was sleeping on the bed (we have a dog door). Left to their own devices, they usually find a way down.
