I agree with M_chelle... anything designer, or high quality fabric should be altered, any nice clothes that you have accessories and shoes to match too, just to cut down on the cost of replacing your wardrobe. I have been told though that if you are ALOT smaller than you were, it is hard to take some designs in to a smaller size, and still keep the overall look of the outfit. So maybe for stuff like that you can just have the skirts or the pants altered and find new tops for them or vice versa... I am not a seamstress, I can barely MEND a seam without 20 yards of thread, so I am not sure.

But overall, you shouldnt deny yourself the pleasure of buying smaller clothes!! Happy shopping!!!
