This is wrong. There is a problem with the plant that manufactures raw phentermine powder, and it looks like it will be the end of the year before they're in production again. The raw powder is what all manufacturers of phentermine hydrochloride pills and capsules use, hence the shortage. However, it does not affect phentermine resin (Ionamin).

Celltech Medeva has had some temporary shortages of Ionamin as it tries to keep up with the demand created by the phentermine hydrochloride shortage, but it is still being manufactured and is available.

I've been covering the phentermine shortage fairly closely in my newsletter, and have developed a list of manufacturers and suppliers which will be useful to physicians trying to find supplies for dispensing in office.

Haven't spoken with any of the parties in about a month, but will probably run another phentermine shortage update in November.
