Bontril is just a brand name for the appetite suppressant PHENDIMETRAZINE TARTRATE. It is also available under many different names: Adipost, Adphen, Plegine, and Statobex...just to name a few.

Its effects are very similar to that of phentermine; the side effects and interactions almost mirror each other. Most of the information available about phendimetrazine tartrate states that the drug should be taken alone and only for a short period of time (but I think that decision should be made by you and your doctor). The two most common dosages are the 35 mg, which are usually administered 2 to 3 times a day with meals, and the controlled release (105 mg), which are usually taken one time in the morning...much like phentermine
