i am so sorry! you know...my mom is like that sometimes too....she just doesn't think about ME..so i do know how you feel! i really don't know why they are like that...you'd think they'd put themselves in our shoes. do you think that maybe your mom thought you'd like it or would be able to use it? maybe she wasn't meaning to upset you.
i am sure it will all work out..even if it doesn't seem like it right now. keep up posted and good luck!
