I tried the south beach diet a few months ago before starting the Phen. I didn't have success with it because I don't cook and it was hard finding the right things to eat. I also wasn't motivated then the way I am now. However, two friends at work started with me and one lost 11 lbs. in the first 14 dyas (Phase I) and the other lost 8 lbs. in PHASE I. So they did have success, but they both cooked things from the book and exercised as well. They are now in Phase III and maintaining what they lost. Good Luck with it. let me know your progress and I may start again since I am so motivated now with the Phen.
