Hi! Actos is a fairly new drug for non insulin dependent diabetics, usually given along with another drug like Glucophage or Glipizide. Believe it or not.....it actually aids in weight loss!
This was not an intended effect for this med. It was noticed after researching persons taking the med, effectiveness, etc that many all experienced weight loss. This info is from my medical journals, try to Google actos and see what you find.
