What is Ionamin?

Answer

Ionamin is one of the brand name versions of the appetite suppressant phentermine hydrochloride, otherwise known simply as "phentermine".  What makes Ionamin different from some of the other brands such as Adipex-p, and the generic versions of phentermine is its slow release action.

Phentermine is the active ingredient in all Ionamin tablets. Phentermine and resin are mixed in the manufacture of Ionamin diet pills and this has the effect of slowing down the absorption of phentermine into the body, therefore prolonging the effects of phentermine on the patient.

Ionamin is available as Ionamin 15 and Iomamin 30. The difference between these two tablets is the amount of phentermine they contain. Ionamin 15 has 15mg of phentermine, while Ionamin 30 contains 30mg of phentermine.

Ionamin is intended for use by heavily overweight or obese patients, this means people with a BMI of 30 or greater, or people with a BMI of 27 but who also suffer from other illnesses.

Ionamin capsules, like all other versions of phentermine should only be taken for a few weeks (up to 12 weeks). Ionamin is a prescription drug and should only be taken as instructed by your doctor. Regular exercise and a controlled diet are recommended for patients taking Ionamin. Ionamin is intended to be a short term weight loss aid which is to be used while patients develop new eating and exercise habits.
